Sen. Ping Lacson, the only senator who abstained from making a vote, claimed that he and now-Senate Pres. Tito Sotto will revive the impeachment case in case the Supreme Court changes its ruling. The high court ruled the impeachment complaint against the Vice President as unconstitutional.
According to the Supreme Court, the impeachment complaint violated the one-year ban rule. The ban is set to be lifted on February 6, 2026. Prior to it, some groups have expressed the possibility of filing a fresh impeachment case against the Vice President.
