Lady Tuyo Vendor Sustained Injury After Being Stabbed by Neighbor
A 39-year-old lady tuyo vendor was stabbed by her neighbor inside the Dalahican Fish Port Complex in Barangay Dalahican, Lucena City.
On Sunday (January 11, 2026), the attack reportedly stemmed from a longstanding land dispute between the two.
Police reported that the victim suffered multiple stab wounds to her shoulder, arm, neck, face, head, and right side of her abdomen. The suspect who was her own neighbor, carried out the attack in broad daylight.
CCTV footage captured the incident, showing the suspect approaching the vendor and pointing at her. The two appeared to be talking briefly before the suspect suddenly began stabbing her.
Several bystanders tried to intervene, but the attacker continued until the woman fell to the ground. Even as she struggled and tried to kick the suspect, the stabbing persisted. The two briefly wrestled until some men arrived and pulled the assailant away.
The victim, with a face covered in blood, managed to stand and seek help. Authorities later revealed that the motive behind the attack was a dispute over land, specifically a right-of-way issue in their neighborhood in Purok Bangkusay 2, Barangay Dalahican.

Emergency responders immediately brought the woman to a hospital in Lucena City. She is currently in stable condition and continues to receive treatment for her injuries.
