Female Delivery Rider Loses Earnings to Riding-in-Tandem in Digos
A female delivery rider expressed her frustration after being robbed of P13,000 by a riding-in-tandem in Digos City.
A lady delivery worker n Digos City, Davao del Sur went through a frightening experience after she was robbed by two suspects riding a motorcycle. The incident happened on Friday and was captured by a nearby CCTV camera, which later helped authorities review the incident.
Based on the video, the riding-in-tandem suddenly stopped in front of a gate along the road where the delivery rider was passing. One of the suspects pointed a gun at the woman, forcing her to stop and comply.
The second suspect, who was riding at the back, got off the motorcycle and approached the rider. The suspect searched the victim and quickly took her belt bag, which contained nearly P13,000 in cash.
The money was believed to be part of her earnings from deliveries and collections for the day. The incident happened in just a short time, leaving the victim shaken and helpless. After taking the money, the suspects immediately fled the area on their motorcycle.
The delivery rider was shocked but thankfully did not suffer any physical injuries.
The robbery incident was recorded on CCTV, which will be used to track down the suspects. A manhunt is currently ongoing as authorities continue to search for the riding-in-tandem involved in the crime.
The incident has raised concern among delivery riders and other workers who rely on the road for their daily livelihood. Many delivery riders face risks every day as they travel alone and carry cash while working long hours.
