3 Men Arrested for Illegal Gambling in Quezon City

Police Arrest 3 Men for Illegal Gambling in Quezon City

Three men were arrested after they were caught illegal gambling along Kaliraya Street in Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City.

In the early hours of Monday morning (January 12, 2026), a concerned citizen who noticed the illegal activity in the area reported it to the authorities.

During the arrest, police discovered that one of the suspects was carrying an improvised firearm, known as a pen gun. It raised further concern among the authorities, especially since the gambling activity was happening late at night in a residential area. The firearm was confiscated during the operation.

The three suspects claimed that they did not know each other and said they were only there to pass time. The 37-year-old admitted that the confiscated firearm belonged to him and explained that he kept it for personal protection.

Meanwhile, the 23-year-old said he was only passing by and ended up joining the gambling. The youngest suspect denied any involvement and said he was only caught in the situation.

Further investigation revealed that the 23-year-old suspect had previous criminal records. He had been jailed before for robbery hold-up and illegal possession of firearms. Because of this, police are now checking whether the suspects could be linked to a robbery group, especially due to the presence of a firearm.

The three men are currently detained at the Galas Police Station custodial facility and are facing charges for illegal gambling. The 37-year-old

suspect

will also face an additional charge for illegal possession of firearms.
