Driver Argues w/ Traffic Enforcer for Confiscating His License

Driver Pushes Back After Traffic Enforcer Allegedly Confiscates His License

A driver argued and confronted a traffic enforcer after his driver’s license was reportedly confiscated.

Agustin explained that he was flagged for a traffic violation at the Calamba Exit. According to him, the violation involved a truck ban that he was not aware of, as it was his first time passing through the area.

Richard said the enforcers immediately told him that his driver’s license would be taken. He initially tried to remain calm and politely asked if he could simply be warned and allowed to turn back instead of being penalized.

However, the request was denied. He then agreed to receive a traffic ticket and said he was willing to sign it, but insisted that his license should be returned, citing existing orders that suspend the confiscation of licenses by traffic enforcers.

As the discussion continued, Agustin began recording the incident. This reportedly angered one of the enforcers, who told him that he had no right to take a video and warned him of possible charges.

When Agustin refused to sign the ticket unless his license was returned, the enforcer marked it as Refuse to Sign, even though he maintained that he was ready to sign under fair conditions. The situation escalated further when police officers were called to the scene.

Agustin questioned why a police presence was needed, but said he stood his ground because he believed he knew his rights as a driver. Eventually, when the police arrived, his license was returned.

Despite this, the delay caused him problems, including a late delivery and loss of time and income.
