Impeachment Complaint Filed vs. Marcos Jr. Before the House Secretary General’s Office

– An impeachment complaint was filed against the President over the alleged betrayal of public trust based on several grounds including the alleged surrender of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The current administration was heavily criticized over the arrest and the transfer of custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte last March 2025. The former President was arrested by the Philippine authorities who assisted the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).

Then, Malacañang defended Marcos Jr. saying he did not commit betrayal of public trust as the government only did its job in lieu of its commitment with the Interpol. The President also claimed that the issue was already existing when he came into the picture.

Recently, an

impeachment complaint was filed against Marcos Jr. and the alleged “surrender” of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was mentioned as one of the grounds

over the President’s alleged betrayal of public trust. The impeachment rap was filed before the Office of the Secretary General of the House of Representatives.
