NUP Eyes Another Ethics Complaint vs. Suspended Cong. Kiko Barzaga ahead of Suspension’s Lifting

– The suspension of the Cavite 4th District Representative may be extended amid the possible filing of the 2nd ethics complaint.
Countless people were left angry by the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption in the Philippines. Last September and November, thousands of Filipinos joined the “Trillion Peso March” to call for an end to corruption.

Several congressmen and officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) are currently accused of alleged flood control corruption. Some senators and former senators were also tagged in the flood control mess.

. The young lawmaker also previously claimed that he allegedly has an impeachment complaint against Marcos Jr.
Barzaga is vocal on social media about his criticisms against the government, his fellow congressmen, and the Marcos Jr. administration. Last December, the
House of Representatives suspended Barzaga over his alleged “offensive” social media posts
. The said suspension is set to expire this February but there is already a looming 2nd ethics complaint against the Cavite Congressman.

party-list Rep. Jude Acidre claimed that the National Unity Party is eyeing the possibility of filing another impeachment complaint against Cavite Cong. Kiko Barzaga. The NUP is led by deputy speaker Ronnie Puno.
According to Acidre, there is also a possibility that the NUP is allegedly preparing for more than just an ethics complaint against the Cavite Congressman. His statement came amid expulsion talks against the young Congressman.
“I’ve heard that they have the intention of filing because I heard them say ‘see you in court.’ So, maybe it’s more than just an ethics complaint,”

Aside from his current suspension in the House of Representatives, Cong. Kiko Barzaga is also faced with cyberlibel charges.
