Malacañang Speaks on Pres. Bongbong Marcos amid the Impeachment Complaint

– Malacañang claimed that the President is confident that he did not commit any impeachable offense.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly committed betrayal of public trust over the transfer of the custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court. The former President remains detained under the custody of the ICC in The Hague, Netherlands since March 2025.
Marcos Jr. earned massive criticisms over the arrest and the transfer of the custody of Duterte to the ICC. Then, the Malacañang Palace defended the President saying that he did not commit betrayal and the government acted on the arrest in lieu of its commitment with the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).
The President himself also stressed that the issue between Duterte and the ICC is already existing when he came into the picture. For her part, Vice Pres.
Sara Duterte believes that Marcos Jr. allegedly committed an impeachable offense over the arrest
and the transfer of the custody of her father.
The Senator made her claim in front of thousands of members of
Iglesia ni Cristo
during a rally. Malacañang defended the President saying that the presidential Sister allegedly did it for the benefit of her allies. She has aligned herself with the Dutertes amid the political turmoil in the government.
Amid the filing of an impeachment complaint which is seen by some lawmakers as weak based on a

on Inquirer, Pres. Bongbong Marcos is confident that he did not commit any impeachable offense as per the Malacañang Palace. According to Atty. Claire Castro, she was able to ask the President about the matter.
“Natanong ko na po siya. Ang sabi niya hindi po siya nababahala dahil alam niyang wala siyang ginawa na impeachable offense na maaaring masabi na siya ay managot,”
Castro said.
Furthermore, the Malacañang press official added that Pres. Bongbong Marcos knows that he is working based on the Constitution and the law. He is confident that he did not do anything wrong.
“Alam niya, muli, siya naman ay nagtratrabaho nang naaayon sa Konstitusyon at naaayon sa batas. Kumpiyansa siya na wala siyang ginawang mali,”
the Palace official expressed.
