Sen. Bato dela Rosa Still No Show in Senate Sessions amid Alleged ICC Arrest Warrant

– The Senator took to social media an official statement as he celebrated his 64th birthday amid his supposed hiding from the Philippine authorities.
After Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla claimed that the International Criminal Court has allegedly issued an arrest warrant against him, Sen. dela Rosa was no show in the Senate sessions. Some of his colleagues in the Senate claimed that his office allegedly remains functional though.
Amid his supposed hiding, Sen.
Bato dela Rosa asked for information over the alleged ICC arrest warrant against him but his request was rejected by the DOJ
(Department of Justice). The Supreme Court also previously denied his request to mandate Ombudsman Boying Remulla to release a copy of the alleged ICC arrest warrant against him.
According to Atty. Israelito Torreon, the legal counsel of Dela Rosa, the Senator might make himself available after the government will clarify its course of actions. He and Dela Rosa recently met amid the Senator’s supposed hiding.
Previously, the Philippine authorities admitted that they cannot make a move without an actual copy of the ICC arrest warrant against Sen. Bato dela Rosa. Harry Roque, the former spokesman of ex-President Rodrigo Roa Duterte who is also in The Hague, Netherlands now, previously claimed that the foreign court has indeed issued an arrest warrant against the Senator.
The Department of Interior and Local Government or
DILG previously said they allegedly know where Sen. Bato dela Rosa is
as they are monitoring him. Senate President Tito Sotto and Senate Finance Committee chairman Sherwin Gatchalian previously confirmed that Dela Rosa remains to be paid as a senator as the “no work, no pay” rules does not apply to them.
“Kung papayag lamang ako na ako’y huhulihin at lilitisin ng mga tao at korteng banyaga, tila binalewala ko na rin ang pakikipaglaban ng ating mga bayani at sundalo para sa ating kasarinlan
,” the Senator wrote.
Sen. Bato dela Rosa further stated that he remains patient, composed, and dignified. In his

, he expressed his gratitude for all the birthday greetings and those who continue to support him. He also bared his birthday wish as he turned 64 years old.
“On my 64th birthday, I make this wish, if I may be permitted: that the Philippines will once more be restored to true nationhood,”
Dela Rosa stated.
