SP Tito Sotto Reveals Senate Set-Up if Impeachment Raps Reaches Chamber

– The Senate President spoke on the possibility of Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte facing impeachment complaints.

Party-list Rep. Jett Nisay. The Makabayan bloc attempted to file another impeachment complaint against the President but it was allegedly not accepted by the Office of the House Secretary General as the SecGen. was not around then.

Prior to the filing of an impeachment complaint against Marcos Jr., the Malacañang Palace assured that the President is ready to face any impeachment rap that may be filed against him. On the recent filing of an impeachment complaint against him, the Palace said that Marcos Jr. is not bothered by it as he is confident that he allegedly did not do anything wrong.
Aside from an impeachment complaint against Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr., there are also impeachment talks against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Recently, Senate Pres. Tito Sotto reacted to the possibility that both Marcos Jr. and the Vice President will be facing impeachment complaints.
Meanwhile, Senate Pres. Tito Sotto stressed that he is ready in case impeachment complaints against both Marcos Jr. and Duterte will reach the Senate. He stressed that the chamber will prepare for it.
“Sana naman huwag ano. Dahil nakakahiya sa mundo… Nevertheless, paghahandaan natin kung sakali. Ako naman ready ako,”

, in case impeachment complaints will be transmitted to the Senate, Senate Pres. Tito Sotto said that they will be an impeachment court from 3:00 p.m. onwards. In the morning, the senators will perform their legislative duties.
“In the morning, from 9 am to 1 pm, legislative work ang Senado. Pagdating ng 3 pm up, e di impeachment court. Kung sakali sinabi nila dalawa, at the very remote possibility, sabay namin dalawa. E di gawin MWF ‘yung isa, TTH, ‘yung isa. Siguro naman majority ng members papayag,”
