Malacañang Speaks on Decision of Pres. Bongbong Marcos on Calls To Declare Chinese Ambassador to PH ‘Persona non grata’
BONGBONG MARCOS
– The President rejected the calls to declare the ambassador of China, Jing Quan, ‘persona non grata’.
Previously, 15 senators signed a Senate resolution denouncing the recent statements of the Chinese Embassy in Manila against Philippine government officials who fight for the country’s stand on the territorial dispute. Six (6) senators did not favor the said resolution.

Minority senator Bato dela Rosa was able to express an opposition to the Senate resolution condemning the remarks of the Chinese Ambassador towards the Philippine government officials despite his prolonged absence from the sessions. The Chinese envoy said he will immediately leave the country if he will be declared a persona non grata.
Sen. Robin Padilla defended his stand saying that he will also be angry if the image of Pres. Bongbong Marcos will be used as a caricature in a foreign country even if he is an opposition. He stressed that there must be mutual respect between the parties involved.

. The PCG responded to the Senator’s remarks saying that they recognize the use of the water cannon which is to help save lives and not to inflict damage to other people and other vessels.
Recently, Malacañang was asked about the decision of Pres. Bongbong Marcos on the call over the ambassador of China in the Philippines. Based on a report on Inquirer, Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro said the President answered a firm “no” to the call.
