Manila Teachers Rejoice as Isko Moreno Approves P69.8-M in Allowances
ISKO MORENO – Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno announced the release of P69.8-M in allowances for the city’s public school teachers.
Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso announced the release of P69.8 million in allowances for the city’s public school teachers. According to Domagoso, the allowances cover the last three months of the previous year and will be received by 11,633 teachers starting next week.
He also stated that P9.68 million in allowances will be given to 6,452 Grade 12 students in Manila public schools.

“May mga bagay sa pamahalaan na kailangang gawin para sa kabutihan ng mas nakararami at pangmatagalan,”
said Domagoso. This translates to,
“There are matters in government that need to be done for the welfare of the majority and for the long term.”
In addition, the city government will release allowances for students of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) and Universidad de Manila (UDM), as well as for Manila police officers, city firefighters, beneficiaries of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and personnel of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
In total, the Manila city government will distribute P155.04 million in allowances across various sectors. The initiative highlights Mayor Domagoso’s commitment to supporting not only educators and students but also public safety personnel and other essential government workers.
