Palace Speaks on Reaction of Pres. Bongbong Marcos to the Junking of Impeachment Raps

– The Malacañang Palace spoke on the reaction of the President to the House of Representatives junking the impeachment complaints against him.

Respondent ordered and enabled the kidnapping and surrender of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Respondent is unfit to serve as President due to drug addiction.

Respondent committed betrayal of public trust when he failed to veto unprogrammed appropriations (UA) and other unconstitutional provisions in the General Appropriations Bill (GAB).

Respondent engaged in graft and corruption through kickbacks and ghost projects.

Respondent created the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) to shield corrupt allies.

Respondent violated the Constitution and betrayed public trust by surrendering former President Duterte to the ICC.

Previously,

Malacañang claimed that Marcos Jr. is not worried for himself on the impeachment complaint but for the country’s economy

. According to Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro, the President is confident that he did not commit an impeachable offense.

Amid the impeachment raps against the President, presidential son and Ilocos Norte Congressman

Sandro Marcos stepped back from participating in the House process of the impeachment complaints against versus PBBM

. He claimed that he wants to preserve the dignity of the chamber in the process.

The younger Marcos assured that the House will not block any impeachment complaint. Pres. Bongbong Marcos claimed that his son did not tell him about his recusal but he stressed that it is the right thing to do.

Recently, the

House of Representatives junked the two (2) impeachment complaints against Marcos Jr.

for ‘insufficiency of substance’. Forty-two lawmakers agreed to scrap the first impeachment rap while 39 lawmakers voted to junk the second complaint.

Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro said.

Based on a

on PhilStar, Atty. Claire Castro stressed that even Pres. Bongbong Marcos was confident that he did not commit an impeachable offense. The Palace official claimed that the President is now keeping his focus on the economy.

“For now, the President is focused on growing the economy of the country. So he said, let us move forward,”

the Malacañang press official said.
