Grade 12 Student Passes Away After Shooting Incident Inside School Classroom

A grade 12 student passed away after a tragic shooting incident inside a school classroom in Lian, Batangas.

On February 5, 2026 (Thursday), a Grade 12 student reportedly fired a gun inside the classroom at Lian Institute, Inc., located along J.P. Rizal Street in Barangay Bungahan before turning it on himself, leading to his death.

The victim was identified as a 17-year-old male student known by the alias BJ. He was inside his classroom when the alarming incident unfolded, causing panic among classmates and school staff.

According to police reports, authorities arrived to find the student lying on the floor of the classroom, covered in blood. A .45 caliber pistol was found beside him, along with spent shell casings scattered on the floor. The student had suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

Despite this effort, the student suddenly fired the gun toward the ceiling, then again toward the floor, terrifying everyone nearby.

After a few moments, the student pointed the gun at his own head and fired. He collapsed instantly. Emergency responders rushed him to the hospital, hoping to save his life, but he was later declared dead.

Police recovered the firearm, its magazine, live ammunition, and empty bullet shells from the scene. Investigators are now working to determine how the
