Female Police Officer Earns Praise for Helping Pregnant Woman to Deliver Baby

A female police officer earns praise online after helping a pregnant woman to safely deliver a baby outside their municipal police station.

The police officer was identified as PMSG Maricel Burzon, who is also a registered nurse. Her medical background played an important role when a pregnant woman suddenly went into labor and could no longer wait for hospital care.

The incident happened at around 7:30 in the evening on Thursday, February 5, 2026, outside the Santo Domingo Municipal Police Station in Ilocos Sur.

The woman who gave birth was identified as Lucia Mae Ng, a resident of Barangay Maninila in Rapu-Rapu, Albay. She was already in severe labor pain when she sought help and was unable to hold on any longer.

Seeing the urgency of the situation, Burzon immediately stepped in to assist. Using her training and experience, Burzon helped the woman lie down in a safe position and carefully guided her through the delivery process.

Despite the tense moment and the unusual setting, the baby was successfully delivered outside the police station. Both the mother and the newborn were reported to be stable after the birth.

After the baby was safely delivered, Burzon made sure that both the mother and child were rushed to the nearest lying-in clinic. There, they received proper medical care to ensure their well-being and recovery.

Burzon’s quick and compassionate response did not go unnoticed. Her actions reached the highest leadership of the Philippine National Police, where she was recognized for her dedication and presence of mind.

Many people admired how she remained calm and focused during the emergency.
