Tito Sotto claimed that he can do any work
Previously, Senate Pres.
Tito Sotto also revealed that they in the majority are planning to make Sen. Loren Legarda the Senate chief
before the 20th Congress ends. However, shortly after, Sotto claimed that Legarda does not have the numbers to be the leader of the upper chamber.
According to Sotto, one of the reasons behind the alleged Senate ‘coup’ is supposedly the removal of presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos from the lead of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The panel is now led by Sen. Erwin Tulfo.

Recently, Sen. Imee Marcos gave a message for Senate Pres. Tito Sotto in reaction to the reports that the Senate Chief claimed that her removal from a panel’s lead is supposedly one of the reasons behind the alleged Senate ‘coup’. Based on a
report
“Firstly, I have been most grateful to you for keeping me on as the Chairperson of the Foreign Relations Committee for the past months, fully aware that such a premier committee is traditionally kept by the majority. Also, as I am neither philosophically nor strategically aligned with the administration on key issues of foreign policy, it has been ever more difficult to defend it abroad
,” the Senator said.

Sen. Imee Marcos also explained what she believed led to the alleged Senate ‘coup’. According to her, the senators allegedly could no longer rely to the Senate amid the chamber being the target of flood control investigations.
“What did propel the said “coup” was a general sense, amongst even majority members, that the Senate was being targeted in the various flood and infra investigations, and that senators could no longer rely on the institution to protect or defend them
,” Marcos expressed.
The Senate did its own flood control investigation led by the Blue Ribbon Committee. Recently, Senate Pres.
Tito Sotto admitted that he is against the removal of the names of Sens. Escudero, Villanueva, and Estrada from the flood control report
. The said unofficial report of the Blue Ribbon Committee recommends the filing of flood control charges against the senators.
