Jing Quan, Chinese Ambassador, Speaks on Long-Time Issue Between China & PH
Chinese ambassador Jing Quan invited the Philippine government to a dialogue and to find ways to manage the differences between the two countries.
The territorial dispute between China and the Philippines is one of the long-standing issues between the two (2) nations. The former did not recognize the 2016 ruling of the Arbitral Tribunal which took the side of the latter in its territorial claim.

There were even several recent incidents of supposed heightened tension between the Philippine Coast Guards and the Chinese authorities in the West Philippine Sea. The PCG previously claimed that the water cannons of China fired at them.

Robin Padilla previously asked why the PH Coast Guard did not purchase stronger water cannons and fired back at China
. His statement earned him massive criticisms. The Senator made the remark as his expressed his opposition on PCG spokesperson Jay Tarriela using the caricature of Chinese leader Xi Jinping at a lecture.

Robin Padilla warned those who are allegedly trying to pick a fight with China
. According to him, they are the ones who are supposedly the real “pro-China”.
“Kayong mga naghahanap ng gulo sa China ang tunay na pro-China. Dahil sa mga ginagawa ninyo, baka sa sobrang bwis|t at pikon sa inyo ay mapilitan silang pasukin tayo,”

Recently, Chinese ambassador Jing Quan expressed an invitation for the PH government officials for a talk to manage differences. Based on a report on PhilStar, he made the remarks at a reception in celebration of the Lunar New Year.
According to Chinese ambassador Jing Quan, China and the Philippines have “not been meeting each other enough” in recent times. He believes that such situation must change.
“My own reflection is that, in recent times, we have not been meeting each other enough. Political dialogue has at times nearly come to a standstill. This situation must change, and it must change quickly,”
the Chinese Ambassador said.
