Suspect Caught on CCTV Stealing Over P100,000 Worth of Items in Quezon City
A 23-year-old suspect was arrested after he was caught stealing more than P100,000 worth of items from a house in Barangay Paltok, Quezon City.
The stolen items included a bicycle, cash, and pieces of jewelry. Based on CCTV footage and a camera installed in the complainant’s vehicle, the suspect was clearly seen jumping over the fence of the house.
The culprit was also seen checking the windows, possibly looking for a way to enter. Although he did not manage to get inside the rooms, he was able to take a bicycle from the backyard. The bike had no lock, which made it easier for him to carry it away.
According to Police Lt. Col. Rolando Baula, Station Commander of Masambong Police Station 2, this was not the suspect’s first offense. Records show that he has several previous cases, including robbery, trespass to dwelling, and violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.
Authorities said he has been involved in a series of break-in incidents in the past.
During a hot pursuit operation on the afternoon of February 15, 2026 in Barangay Bagong Pag-asa, the suspect resisted arrest. Two police officers were injured during the struggle.
Police were able to recover the stolen bicycle and the sweatshirt the suspect wore during the crime. A baseball bat and a bladed weapon were also found when he was arrested. He is now in police custody and facing multiple charges, including robbery, direct assault, and resisting arrest.
