Authorities Arrest 18-Year-Old Man for Stealing Motorcycle in Antipolo

An 18-year-old man was arrested in Antipolo, Rizal after he allegedly stole a motorcycle in Barangay San Isidro.

On early Sunday morning (February 15, 2026), the suspect was tracked down after two witnesses pointed him out. CCTV footage taken around midnight showed two young individuals staying near the roadside.

In another video, the stolen motorcycle was seen passing through the area. The owner of the motorcycle, Marlon Pelicano, discovered the theft the next morning. He said he woke up around 8:00 a.m. and was shocked to see that his motorcycle was gone.

The witnesses later guided the victim and authorities to the area where the suspect usually stayed in Barangay Bagong Nayon.

The suspect was arrested with the help of barangay officers and police. Authorities learned that he had already been offering the motorcycle for sale and had been going around nearby barangays, including Barangay Cupang, to find a buyer. The stolen motorcycle was successfully recovered.

The suspect, known as Jay, admitted that he saw the motorcycle key on the ground outside the victim’s house. He tried it on the motorcycle, and when it worked, he decided to take the vehicle and sell it for P8,000. He claimed he needed money for food.

Police also revealed that this was his third time being jailed. He had previously been involved in theft and robbery cases. He is now detained at the Antipolo Police custodial facility and is facing charges for violating the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016.
