GROPING INCIDENT

– A 39-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly touched a female passenger inside an EDSA Carousel bus.

Last week, a man identified as Glenpray Masangcap, a resident of Dasmariñas, Cavite. According to the complaint of the victim, Jana Maxine Dorado, she felt the man’s hand on her left thigh while they were traveling from Monumento to SM North EDSA.

Dorado noticed that the suspect covered his hand with a jacket and pretended to be asleep while carrying out the act. The situation caused her fear and discomfort, prompting her to quietly record the incident on her phone as proof.

When the bus reached Roosevelt Station, the victim immediately sought help from the conductor. She was visibly shaken but determined to report what happened.

Upon arriving at SM North EDSA, a security guard approached the suspect and held him while waiting for responding authorities. Personnel from the Philippine Coast Guard later arrived and officially placed the man under arrest.

Masangcap is now facing charges for Acts of Lasciviousness under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code. This law covers actions involving unwanted and inappropriate physical contact, especially in public spaces where passengers expect safety and respect.
