Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake in Zambales, December 2, 2025

– The Phivolcs recorded a 4.6 magnitude quake in Zambales today, December 2, 2025. Here are the details.

last September 30, another significant quake was recently recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in another province. According to the agency, the quake recently hit Zambales and it has a magnitude of 4.6.

that struck Zambales today, December 2, 2025, was tectonic in origin. A tectonic quake is a shaking which is a product when the Earth’s crust breaks because of the geological forces on the rocks and the adjoining plates which result to chemical and physical changes.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Zambales was located at 15.04°North, 119.72°East – 038 km South 87° West of San Felipe. It had a depth of focus of 005 kilometers.

stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake neither aftershocks. According to the quake-recording agency, no intensity was recorded at the epicenter of the quake as well as the nearby areas. Instrumental intensity I was logged in Abucay, Bataan and Iba, Zambales.
