LTO Files Show Cause Order Against Vlogger Over Multiple Traffic Violations

LTO Calls Out Vlogger for Committing Multiple Traffic Violations

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) released a Show Cause Order (SCO) against a vlogger who was seen committing multiple traffic violations.

In the video, the vlogger was shown driving with a fake license plate, not wearing a seatbelt, and using a mobile phone while on the road. His actions fall under distracted driving and pose serious danger not only to the driver himself but also to other motorists and pedestrians.

LTO chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao ordered the vlogger to appear before the LTO Intelligence and Investigation Division in Quezon City.

The content creator is required to submit a written explanation detailing why he should not face charges for multiple violations, including failure to use an authorized license plate, not wearing a seatbelt, distracted driving, reckless driving, and operating a vehicle in an improper manner.

To prevent further risks, the agency placed his driver’s license under preventive suspension for 90 days. The Ford Expedition involved in the incident was also flagged in the system, and he is required to bring the vehicle to the LTO Motor Vehicle Inspection Facility for a full roadworthiness check.

Asec. Lacanilao reminded the vlogger that failing to appear or to submit his explanation will be treated as giving up his right to defend himself. If that happens, the LTO will resolve the case using the documents and evidence already on hand.
