MARCOS JR.

– The President called on the Filipinos to “begin with truth, humility, and compassion” on Solemnity of Immaculate Conception of Mary.

Today, December 8, 2025, is a special non-working day in the Philippines. It is on the

list of the holidays in the Philippines this 2025

and actually paved the way for a long weekend as the holiday falls on a Monday.

Countless Catholic church members celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Mary today. Many Filipinos attended mass today and offered prayers and flowers with lighted candles in churches.

Early today, the office of Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. released his statement on the celebration of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Mary. He called on the Filipinos turn our gaze to Jesus’ Mother “Whose life began entirely in God’s favor”.

In his message, Marcos Jr. further stressed that the Blessed Mary the Mother of Jesus was “preserved from sin from the very first moment of her existence”. He also highlighted in his message that the Blessed Mary was able to say yes to God with complete love and freedom.

“In Mary, the Church sees not a distant figure, but a Mother who journeys with us — interceding, guiding, and showing us what it truly means to belong to God wholeheartedly,”

the President wrote.

Furthermore, in his message for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Mary Mother of Jesus, Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. also stated that the celebration invites us to reflect as a people and also sets as a reminder that the way we start supposedly matters.

“Our intentions shape our outcomes, and the spirit in which we start a mission influences the fruit it bears. If we sow pride, we reap division; if we sow

deceit, we reap distrust. But if we begin with truth, humility, and compassion for the least among us, we can build a more just and peaceful Bagong Pilipinas: a nation where integrity, service, and the common good guide our every action”

Marcos Jr. stated.

Here’s the

message of the President

for the Catholic people:

Today is a long weekend in the country. Do you wish to check the remaining
