The National ID card is attached to a document for security, and recipients are instructed to detach it by releasing its grip from the paper.
However, when the Redditor removed his National ID from the attached document, parts of the card, particularly his photo, peeled off and transferred onto the paper.
“Ganda talaga ng quality ng National ID — Konting dikit lang ‘yan,” he wrote on the “r/Philippines” community with sarcasm.
The Reddit user
said
in the discussion thread that he wouldn’t have known his National ID was already available unless he personally checked at the post office in his area, implying that the processing time is very long.
“Mas maganda pa ‘yung makeshift ID namin, na pina-print ng P100,” he

in the thread.

The National ID system aims to establish a single identification card or system for all citizens in the Philippines.
It is intended to serve as valid proof of identity to simplify public and private transactions, school enrollment, and the opening of bank accounts.
The National ID also seeks to improve efficiency, especially in dealings with government agencies, where people will only need to present one ID card for various transactions.
Last August, the
Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
urged Filipinos to use their Digital National ID in transactions and reaffirmed its validity as proof of identity.
According to the PSA, individuals who have registered for a National ID can access its digital version through the eGovPH app.
