– The Senate Chief claimed that he will not allow any last-minute insertions in the proposed 2026 national budget.

Not only senators and congressmen were accused in the budget insertion issue in the Philippines but as well as President Bongbong Marcos himself. Together with the flood control corruption accusations, the issues led thousands of people to the streets last September 21 and November 30 to protest against the supposed massive corruption in the country.

refused to return to the Philippines amid the massive flood control accusations against him. According to the resigned House member, he was supposedly told by Romualdez to stay out of the country as allegedly instructed by Marcos Jr.

Co claimed that Marcos Jr. and Romualdez allegedly masterminded a P100-billion budget insertion in the country’s fund for this year. According to the resigned chairman of the House Budget Appropriations Committee, the President and the former Speaker also supposedly received a P56-billion kickback all for themselves.

Aside from Marcos Jr. and Romualdez, other government officials who were tagged in the flood control mess and the budget insertion issue include presidential son and Ilocos Norte Congressman Sandro Marcos, Pasig Cong. Roman Romulo, Quezon City Cong. Arjo Atayde, Marikina Cong. Marcy Teodoro, Senator Chiz Escudero, Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, and Sen. Joel Villanueva.

Zaldy Co was also the one who tagged Cong. Sandro Marcos in the budget insertion issue

in the country. According to him, the presidential Son allegedly had over P50-billion budget insertions within three (3) years.

Recently, amid the budget process, Senate Pres. Tito Sotto spoke about the budget insertions in the 2026 national budget. Speaking to DWIZ, the Senate Chief vowed that he will not allow any last-minute budget insertions in the 2026 national fund.

“Hindi na puwedeng may dadagdag o mag-insert. ’Di ako papayag nun,”

Sotto said.

Furthermore, Senate Pres. Tito Sotto also promised that there will be “no” allocable funds in the proposed 2026 national budget for discretionary use. The “allocable funds” is currently known to the public as allegedly the new Pork Barrel funds.
