Las Piñas Police Arrest Homicide Suspect on Day of His Wife’s Cremation
A homicide suspect was arrested by Las Piñas police, the same day his late wife was scheduled for cremation.
On Sunday (December 7, 2025), the police authorities arrested a 35-year-old man at a columbarium in Barangay Ilaya. The man wanted for homicide and frustrated homicide was nabbed on the day of his wife’s cremation.
The man was one of four suspects linked to a violent incident that happened in Barangay Almanza Dos on the night of December 21, 2024. What started as a drinking session reportedly turned into a brutal attack.
A 27-year-old man became the target of the group and, fearing for his safety, asked his father-in-law for help. When they returned to confront the group, the situation quickly escalated.
Police said the victims were suddenly attacked and beaten with wooden planks that had nails attached. Both were rushed to the hospital, but the older man was declared dead on arrival. The younger victim survived but sustained serious injuries, leaving the family shaken and grieving.
That same night, one suspect was immediately arrested. Another was caught months later in August. The third suspect managed to avoid authorities for some time, until police received information about the schedule of his wife’s cremation.
Officers conducted quiet surveillance at the columbarium and confirmed that he was inside a vehicle nearby during the ceremony. He was then arrested without any trouble.
suspect
is listed as the sixth most wanted person by the Las Piñas City Police. He is now detained at the city’s police custodial facility while authorities continue to search for the fourth and final suspect involved in the case.
As the families continue to grieve and seek healing, authorities assure the public that efforts will not stop until everyone responsible is brought to justice.
