In the recent developments, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has found prima facie evidence with reasonable certainty to convict Ang and 24 others of kidnapping with homicide and/or kidnapping with serious illegal detention related to the abduction of several cockfight enthusiasts.
Ang and the other respondents are indicted with 10 counts of kidnapping with homicide and 16 counts of kidnapping with serious illegal detention.
The DOJ stated,
“As to the other respondents, the case/s were dismissed without prejudice to the refilling of any complaint with the Department of Justice should future evidence arise linking them directly to the acts of unlawful detention.”
Based on the post of ABS-CBN, the “DOJ finds prima facie evidence with reasonable certainty of conviction to indict Charlie “Atong” Ang and others with 10 counts of kidnapping with homicide and 16 counts of kidnapping with serious illegal detention.”
Meanwhile, Ang previously denied the accusations, insisting on his innocence. He denied that he is the mastermind in the missing sabungeros case.
