There are no Filipino casualties after a strong earthquake in Japan, which triggered tsunami warnings.
JAPAN EARTHQUAKE – A powerful 7.5-magnitude earthquake struck off northern Japan, and there are no reported Filipino casualties.

Authorities also cautioned that a more powerful quake may strike in the next few days, urging the public to stay on heightened alert for at least a week, according to local media reports.
“At this time, the Embassy has not received any reports of Filipino casualties. The Embassy and the Migrant Workers Office in Tokyo continue to coordinate with their contacts in the Filipino and local communities to ascertain the condition of our nationals,”
the statement read.
In seven prefectures in northern Japan, such as Hokkaido, Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Akita, Yamagata, and Fukushima, there were around 13,000 Filipinos, and none were reported injured or hurt.
