LTO Suspends Driver’s License of Woman Allegedly Caught Driving Alcohol While Driving

Woman’s Driver’s License Suspended After Allegedly Drinking Alcohol While Driving

The Land Transportation Office suspended the woman’s driver’s license for 90 days for allegedly drinking alcohol while driving and also required her to explain her side.

The agency ordered a 90-day preventive suspension of the woman’s driver’s license. The temporary suspension means she is not allowed to drive while the case is under investigation.

The video showed the driver holding a wine glass with a liquid believed to be alcohol while the vehicle was moving.

The LTO issued a Show Cause Order to determine why both the driver and the vehicle owner should not face penalties for reckless driving and driving under the influence. These violations are taken seriously because they endanger not only the driver but also other people on the road.

The agency required the submission of sworn explanations and original vehicle documents. A formal hearing was scheduled at the LTO Central Office in Quezon City to review the case properly.

The vehicle involved was also placed under ALARM status, preventing any transactions related to it while the case is ongoing.

LTO officials reminded the public that attending hearings and submitting required documents are important. Failure to do so may result in decisions based only on the evidence already available.

The agency emphasized that everyone on the road has a responsibility to prioritize safety and that careless actions while driving will always have consequences.
