DSWD chief is offering a P100,000 cash reward for information on cutting off the dog’s tongue in Valenzuela City.
Previously, the cruel abuse of a dog named Kobe in Valenzuela City has garnered strong public reaction, with the government now stepping in to help bring justice.
Recently, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rex Gatchalian has offered a P100,000 reward to anyone who can provide information that will lead to the person responsible for cutting off the dog’s tongue.
Kobe was found weak and badly injured in Barangay Balangkas, Valenzuela City. He was lying helpless, bleeding heavily after his tongue had been cut. The disturbing condition of the dog shocked residents and animal lovers, who could not imagine how anyone could harm a defenseless animal in such a way.
CCTV footage related to the incident later surfaced online, including audio where Kobe could be heard crying in pain. This further fueled public outrage and strengthened calls for accountability.
Gatchalian strongly condemned the act and emphasized that animal cruelty should never be ignored or tolerated.
