Duterte’s Former Spox Harry Roque Speaks on Possible Fresh Impeachment Rap Vs. VP Sara

– The former presidential Spokesman reacted to the possibility of a fresh impeachment complaint being filed against Vice President Sara Duterte.
The Supreme Court previously rules that the impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is unconstitutional. According to the high court, it violates the one year ban rule and a fresh impeachment rap may only be filed against Duterte after February 5, 2026.

Amid the upcoming lifting of the ban on the filing of impeachment case versus Vice Pres. Sara Duterte,
Bagong Alyansang Makabayan
(BAYAN) confirmed that they are planning to file a new impeachment case against the Vice President. The confirmation was made by BAYAN chairperson Teddy Casiño.
Casiño also claimed that the Supreme Court has allegedly added several conditions in the filing of an impeachment complaint so they need to study it. He stressed that the intention to refile the impeachment rap is really there.
“Pinag-aaralan kasi namin ano ‘yung naging implications nitong Supreme Court ruling… Maraming dinagdag na mga conditions ang Supreme Court. Medyo mas mahirap na ngayong mag-file ng impeachment. So ’yun ang mga pinag-aaralan. Of course, the intention is there,”
the BAYAN chairperson said.
Amid the possibility of a fresh impeachment complaint being filed against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, the former spokesman of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Harry Roque, expressed his side.
Harry Roque is currently in The Hague, Netherlands amid a pending arrest warrant against him issued by a Philippine court. He applied for asylum in The Netherlands. Amid the corruption issues in the country, he previously called on Pres. Bongbong Marcos to step down and let Vice Pres. Sara Duterte take over.
On the possible new impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, Harry Roque claimed through a
post
that he is not expecting new grounds in the fresh impeachment complaint against the Vice President. According to him, it will allegedly be about the confidential funds still.
“Wala tayong inaasahan mga bagong basehan sa bagong impeachment laban kay VP Sara. Ayun pa rin gasgas na P125M na confidential fund ang magiging dahilan nila
,” Roque said.
