Male Teacher Arrested After Allegedly Forcing Student to Eat a Cockroach
A male teacher was arrested after allegedly forcing his student to eat a cockroach inside a school in Tondo, Manila.
A 52-year-old public school teacher was arrested after being accused of abusing and forcing a 12-year-old female student to eat a cockroach inside a school in Tondo, Manila.
The educator was arrested on the afternoon of December 12, 2025, when police served a warrant inside the high school where the teacher was employed.
According to authorities, the incident happened on October 15. The young student allegedly witnessed the teacher molesting another female student inside the school restroom. Frightened by what she saw, the child tried to run away to report the incident.
However, the teacher reportedly chased her, caught her, and brought her back into the restroom.
Once inside, the teacher allegedly hurt the child and forced her to eat a cockroach. Police said the teacher also threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident. The experience left the child shaken and scared, but despite the threats, she later gathered the courage to tell her parents about the incident.
Due to the seriousness of the accusations, the teacher was included in the top three most wanted list of the Delpan Police Station.
After his arrest, the suspect was temporarily detained at the police custodial facility. He was later allowed temporary freedom after posting bail amounting to 120,000 pesos on December 16, 2025.

The young complainant is now undergoing an intervention program under the Department of Social Welfare and Development to help her recover from the trauma caused by the incident.
Authorities are also looking into the possible responsibility of the school administration, especially regarding any form of negligence. If the allegations are proven in court, the teacher may lose his job and be permanently removed from the teaching profession.
Police also noted that the other student involved did not file a separate complaint.
