Senator Bato dela Rosa’s lawyer Atty. Israelito Torreon took to social media photos of him with the lawmaker amid his supposed hiding due to a reported arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla claimed that the ICC has allegedly issued an arrest warrant against Sen. Bato dela Rosa

, the former Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief-turned-Senator was no show in the Senate sessions. Despite the “hiding” allegations, his camp claimed that the Senator is allegedly not hiding.

Atty. Israelito Torreon, Sen. Bato dela Rosa’s lawyer, claimed that the Senator might make himself available after the Philippine government has clarified its course of action. None of the government agencies have confirmed receiving a copy of the supposed ICC arrest warrant.

Despite it, the Ombudsman claimed that he allegedly has a copy of the supposed document and the non-confirmation of the other state entities allegedly does not invalidate his claim. The Supreme Court denied Dela Rosa’s motion to compel Remulla to release a copy of the supposed ICC arrest warrant.

Senate President Tito Sotto confirmed that Sen. Bato dela Rosa receives his salary despite his long absence in the Senate sessions. According to the Senate Chief, Dela Rosa was no show since November 11 when the session resumed. Senate Finance Committee chairman Sherwin Gatchalian claimed that senators are not under a “no work, no pay” rule.

Previously, Atty. Israelito Torreon claimed that he allegedly has no communication with Sen. Bato dela Rosa. He claimed that he only moves upon the order of the Senator’s family to work on his defense. Sen. Bato dela Rosa’s lawyer also said the lawmaker has stopped responding to his messages and he cannot confirm if he communicates with his family.
