After his indictment, Atong Ang filed a motion for reconsideration.
In the
case of the missing sabungeros
Ang is facing 10 counts of kidnapping with homicide and 16 counts of kidnapping with serious illegal detention.
Recently, seeking to overturn his indictment on charges of homicide and kidnapping, Ang filed for motion for reconsideration. Atty. Gabriel L. Villareal, Ang’s legal counsel, confirmed this, and this was filed on Friday.
No other details were immediately revealed, but Villareal described DOJ’s decision as something that “suffers from clear factual gaps and substantial inconsistencies.”
The DOJ is yet to confirm this.
To recall, a whistleblower, a former trusted employee of Ang, claimed that is the mastermind behind the mysterious disappearances. Based on the claims, there was
an actress linked to the case
, alleged to be Gretchen Barretto, but recently, the complaints against her were dismissed by the DOJ.
