For the SEA Games 2025, Richard Gomez represented the Philippines in the sporting clays competition, and
he won a silver medal
. His wife, Ormoc City Mayor Lucy Torres, was also present in Thailand to show support for him.
The PH Fencing Association Chief also claimed that some people at the Fashion Mall, wherethe SEA Games fencing is being held, saw the incident. According to Gacuma, the issue between him and Gomez was prompted by the decision to replace Alexa Larrazabal in the individual women’s epee event,
