Authorities Arrest Foreign National After Robbing Pharmacy in Quezon City
A foreign national was arrested and behind bars after allegedly robbing a pharmacy in Novaliches, Quezon City.
On Wednesday evening (December 17, 2025), the 49-year-old Latvian citizen was arrested shortly after the incident due to the quick response of bystanders and local authorities.
Police identified the suspect as alias Tatarinovs, a married man who works as a tour guide and is currently living in Barangay Kaligayahan, Novaliches.
According to the report from the Novaliches Police Station of the Quezon City Police District, the robbery happened at around 6:30 in the evening on December 17 inside a generic pharmacy located in Barangay Sta. Monica.
Based on the investigation, the suspect was known to the pharmacy staff as a regular customer. Employees were familiar with him and had no reason to expect any trouble when he entered the store that evening.
However, the situation changed when the suspect reportedly appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
The pharmacy assistant said the suspect suddenly pulled out a knife and announced a robbery, causing fear and panic among those inside the store. He then took the day’s earnings amounting to 9,271 pesos before fleeing the scene.

After the suspect escaped, the pharmacy staff immediately asked for help from people nearby and contacted the authorities. Their quick action led to the suspect’s arrest not long after the robbery. Police were also able to recover the stolen money, bringing some relief to the affected employees.
