Man Stabs 2 Cousins During Birthday Party in San Jose, Romblon
A man who joined a birthday party in Barangay Poblacion, San Jose, Romblon stabbed two cousins during the gathering.
On Thursday evening (December 18, 2025), a male suspect joined the gathering allegedly stabbed and hacked two cousins late at night. The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. and left the victims injured and rushed to the hospital.
According to the San Jose Municipal Police Station, the commotion started during a birthday party held at a house in the area. The suspect, a 43-year-old man who works as a cook and also lives in the same barangay, arrived at the gathering and reportedly began causing tension. At one point, he allegedly threatened a woman who was attending the celebration.
The noise and disturbance woke up two cousins inside the house, a 17-year-old student and his 20-year-old cousin who works as a boatman.
The two decided to step outside to confront the man and convince him to leave. Unfortunately, a commotion broke out in front of the house, and the suspect suddenly attacked the two cousins using a bladed weapon.
The younger victim suffered multiple stab wounds on his lower back and sustained cuts on his neck and chest. The older cousin was stabbed in the lower back. Neighbors immediately rushed to help and brought the injured cousins to the San Jose District Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Residents were able to stop the suspect and quickly informed the police about what happened. When responding officers arrived, the suspect reportedly surrendered without resistance. No weapon was recovered at the scene.
