Authorities Confiscate P100 Million Worth of Unpermitted Frozen Food Products
Authorities seized around P100 million worth of frozen food products that were found to be without proper permits during an operation in Navotas City.
The inspection took place on December 11 inside several cold storage facilities in the city. During the operation, officers discovered large volumes of frozen meat, fish, and other agri-fishery products that lacked the required documents.
In total, 1,071 boxes of frozen goods were confiscated. These products were suspected to be smuggled and were considered unsafe for public consumption.
According to authorities, the seized items posed potential health risks since their source, handling, and storage conditions could not be verified. Without proper permits and inspection, there is no assurance that the food meets safety standards.
