In a heartwarming moment, a father broke down in tears while receiving a brand-new car as a gift from his son.
Rufino Alfonso, 73, wept upon seeing the Toyota Innova Zenix his son had bought for him at Toyota Shaw Boulevard.
Footage captured by his granddaughter, Camille Vargas, shows the emotional pensioner wiping his eyes with a white towel on December 18.
He then stood in front of the white vehicle, which was decorated with a large red bow, while his family took pictures.
“We all know our grandfather is very soft-hearted. He even said he wouldn’t cry, but the moment he saw and touched the car, he couldn’t hold back his tears. It was pure joy,” Vargas said.
“Granddad Rufino and our late Lola spent years selling mangoes and vegetables just to send my uncle to school. Today, my uncle is a successful real estate broker, and this is his way of repaying all the sacrifices and hard work of my grandparents.”
“Congratulations, tatay! Early Christmas gift from Tito… Passenger prince na raw siya hahaha,” she captioned her post.
